Can actually say that for the first time in decades, I have been stopped by any Police Officer.

Departed my Florida City hotel around 11PM, a few hours later, traveling on the Florida Turnpike in the black of night, became aware a set of headlights in my mirrors were closing but not like my previous experience of the dreaded blue flashing lights.

Had the cruise control on, blues in the headset, with the headlights in the mirrors slowly closing the gap.

While being paced, my focus was the road.

Approaching any traffic, about a half mile or so before, clear of any other traffic except in the mirror, I zig zag several times within my lane from right track to left track aggressively attempting to insure the traffic ahead is aware of my two wheels and it’s fun not just twisting the throttle on a six hour ride.

Return to the right track until a quarter mile or so, move to the left track and when about to overtake, give a quick flash of high beam, hit the turn signal, clear the left lane, move over to the right track of the left lane. After overtaking, turn signal, when clear in my mirror, move to the left track of the right lane and make my way to the right track and enjoy the ride.

Couple of minutes after the overtake, again noticing the headlights in the mirror, but this time quickly approaching, engaging those dreaded blue lights.

Let go of the throttle and hit the turn signal to pull over quickly. Stand down, turned the bike off as the Florida State Trooper approached, opened my modular helmet, pulled out my wallet, getting my license to hand to the Florida State Trooper.

Before the man had an opportunity to say a word, handing my license to the Florida State Trooper, I said I know, I know where my cruise was set. He responded the reason I was stopped was not for speeding, clocked 84, 85 but not exceeding 85. What he was stopping me for was weaving allover the lane. Told the Florida State Trooper that I intentionally do it to ensure rolling living rooms are aware that I exist.

After apologizing for the speeding, explaining my reasons for doing what I do, resulted in a Courtesy Traffic Warning. THANK YOU!

The Trooper also volunteered that I was the first cruiser he had ever stopped for weaving, encouraging me for being, not only prepared for the crash, protective gear and being proactive in getting the attention of other rolling living rooms, but slow down.

If your courteous and regretful for your mistake, NOT the Florida State Trooper, who is doing his job, you never know.

BTW, also do it in traffic and funny how that one car length gap behind me turns to 10!

Get off your phone, pay attention in your rolling living room because one day…
